The idea of a repair is to make it invisible but it seems that the previous person who repaired this bracelet had other ideas.

Here, Andrew replaces a gate bracelet link which has become lost, with a link purchased from bullion dealer. The previous person who had repaired the bracelet did not carry out a satisfactory repair. This is often the case when it comes to jewelery repairers who try to make a ‘quick buck’ and cut corners.

Pendants are subject to wear every time they are worn so the small links attached wear through very quickly.

Andrew Berry shows you, just by using gold solder, how to strengthen the worn out section of the top loop on the top of a pendant. Although it is not necessarily the best way to strengthen, it is a cheaper option for the client.

He also replaces the jump ring that the chain goes through with a new jump ring.
