Tips and Tricks – Reducing a Patterned Wedding Ring
Most text books state that you can not use the upright wedding ring stretcher/reducer to reduce a patterned wedding ring.
Andrew Berry shows you, quite simply, how to reduce a patterned wedding ring. By using a thick piece of fabric, a Selvet cloth in this case, there will be no marks on the surface. A quick going over with a rouge mop over the outside of the ring is all that is needed.

A client brought this ring into us after having it cut off with a pair of tin snips.
Often, rings are removed from clients fingers in an emergency with out a care to the ring. This is usually the case if the client does not have time to have it removed by a jeweller. Here, Andrew, assesses what is left of a ring that a client has brought into his shop. With a little thought and care, the rings ends up as new and the client is delighted.

Fingers are strange things and can prove difficult when to comes to making rings fit.
The rings have to be a certain size to fit over the knuckle but then can be so loose on the finger that it just spins around. Andrew shows you a little addition you can add to the inside of the ring shank to take up the slack.
