Bench Tips n Tricks – Dental Floss

There are lots of tools in the suppliers catalogues but there are also lots of tools within our own home that can make our lives, as jewellers, easier. Dental floss, it doesn’t matter what flavour or whether it is tape or floss, is an example of an everyday item that can be put to good use in our workshops. Don’t consider using your old used dental floss though, make sure it is a new piece. |

Tips ‘N Tricks – Getting the Right Ring Size

There are lots of books on jewellery making that show you how to make rings and cut the right length of metal to make the correct ring size. Nearly every one states the same way but there is so much that can go wrong if you cut the ends incorrectly and you will end up with a ring that is too small and certainly not the right size you intended. Fitting File Handles

Never use a file without a handle. Also when fitting a handle to the file, make sure you fit it correctly as a loose fitting file handle may result in the tang at the end of the file being driven into the hand accidentally.
